... a snack then headed back as we had reservations to go out to a dinner-show that evening. The Dinner-show was very entertaining the food was good and we had a good time, we met a couple from the park in Phoenix (Gilles and Lise) as they pulled into the same park in Nashville so they came to the show with us. A great time was had by all.

... of rhododendron, walls of them covering this mountain range and from them come the tall straight soldier like hardwoods reaching for the sky. The mountains in every shade of purple to grey are stunning. With every stop we make at view points we leave knowing each was better than the last. The mist comes up through the mountains, looking like smoke, silly Robert it is not the smokers at all! We are so pleased we took this route.

Great Smoky Mountain National Park was the focus of my trip to Knoxville this week. This was the first National Park I've ever visited that did not require an entrance fee, which was pleasantly unexpected. ... to snap about 200 pictures and .............the batteries are dead in the camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I toss the camera to lori, grab the cell phone and head toward the bear, i snapped a couple of pictures as he headed to a tree right by the road. The bear climbed the tree!!! Lori bought me the camera (with fresh batteries) but after a couple good pics the bear which i thought was climbing back down the tree ...
