Auckland, New Zealand mablim... which was pretty interesting. It gave information like the airspeed, altitude, time to destination, time at destination, etc. And, I watched a movie or two and then we were there. I had 6 hours to wait in Auckland, so I walked around and found free showers! I didn't have a towel with me, but it didn't matter because the shower felt so good. Finally I was on my way to Sydney.

Sure enough 10am Rob pulls up in his white 4x4 I throw my gear in the back on top of his fire-mans uniform. IT turns out the he is a part time fire fighter and a full time paramedic who has a background in building. We drive to his friends house whose window he has arranged to replace ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand onemanonedrum... when her small rucksack tested positive for explosives! She was questioned and it didn't bode well when she mentioned her 5 month trip to South America. The sniffer dog was called for - he sniffed, but wasn't interested, so Judith was allowed to go! Judith later recollected that her bag had come into contact with explosives in Bolivia, i.e. a stick of dynamite, which we bought for the miners ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand dancoughlin... to risk on getting back when it came to selling. We spent 5 days going to the backpackers car market, looking on trade me (like eBay) and then finally finding something suitable at a price we were very pleased with at the Ellerslie car market. It is what some may refer to as an engineering masterpiece and right up there with the Jaguar E type on looks, as I'm sure you'll agree when you see the pictures of our lovely 1995 Mitsubishi Delica!! It's a 7 seat people carrier, which we ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand tobszanni... I then split up for the rest of the day. He’d decided to go on a harbour cruise, while I wanted to follow the Coast to Coast Walkway from the city to Manukau Harbour. It wasn’t long before I had reached the bottom of the volcanic cone of Mount Eden and then hiked through paddocks of dairy cows to get to the top. I don’t think there are many other cities of this size in the developed world where you have to avoid ...
