      Palolem Christmas paradise

I heart Palolem! Seriously, it's an absolutely fantastic place to spend Christmas and New Year and gain some R&R. We saw families, couples, friends and groups of all nationalities and ages all in a tropical beach melting pot. To get to Palolem you wind through rural country roads until you hit the small main street parallel to the beach, which is lined with a multitude of cute shops and restaurants. Do not get the impression that this is a built up tourist beach ...

      Cochin to Goa

... windy and remote roads. This was not the India I thought existed. Once again our hotel proved difficult to find for the taxi driver and local knowledge and google maps got us there in the end. The "Castle Rock" hotel isn't anything flash by a long shot but the room/cardboard dwelling is new, clean and cheap. With our hunger driving us, we immediately headed out to dinner to find us some famous Goa food. Goa is the last state from which ...

      Incredible India

A travel blog entry by shonamary on Jan 13, 2014

... Well just when we thought we felt pretty used to India it stepped up a whole new level! The photos became ridiculous - we would literally be on the smartphones of 100s of Indians!
Hampi is usually a chilled out village surrounded by huge boulders as far as the eye can see. It also has some of the most amazing temples over 30km which in its day was one of the main civilizations in India. Three of us went on a river cruise in a round basket type boat which was so tranquil to ...

Our first 'out out' night - rave in the jungle!

Finally the day had come, we had been told that there was a rave in the jungle somewhere in the evening so we decided we were going out out.

Some general lazing round on the beach during the day and then another failed attempt at sending Christmas presents home. This time thanks to the parcel wrapper who was trying to rip us off with the amount of money he wanted to send them.

But never mind the night arrived and we ...

A beautiful day in palolem and photos

I am sitting in my room, well lying on the tiled floor on my towel having just finished an ab workout!! This is the best place ever to get fit and healthy i think. I have just been for another beautiful sunset run along the beach, this time I ran a little further doing a few yoga stretches half way and looking out across the silent ocean with the sun setting behind the tiny island off palolem beach, i was pretty overwhelmed. This place is stunning. Today I didn't get out of bed ...
