Early start this morning, up at 5, off to the airport, into terminal 2 had a strong coffee and then said our goodbyes. Flew into london heathrow and met sinead, more of the same, coffee and goodbyes. \a three hour stop over in london and then on to rio!!!
After a delicious breakfast at Petra's we checked out and headed to church. It was really hard to find! After Mass we left our car there and did some sightseeing. We checked out a bookstore, Finnegan's corner, and a few gift shops looking for Burren stained glass (to no avail).
Then we drove to the airport hotel, dropped off the car at the …
Our flight was at 12:30 with a layover in Atlanta. We had breakfast, checked out and got to the airport. We had some duty free shopping to do. What we didn't realize as people urged us to keep moving and get to customs was that there would be no duty free shops once we passed through customs! This is new to us, going through customs in the foreign …
We arrived at Bewleys Hotel with a definitive plan in mind...get checked in, get the rental car back to airport, catch a few hours sleep, and take the hotel shuttle in the morning. Little did we realize how out of whack the whole plan would end up being.
The first clue was when we went to check in and they could not find our reservations. …
Although the Balmoral is a luxury accommodation, its claim that it had free wireless internet turned out to be false. The Europeans just do not understand the importance of reliable internet services. As a result, my mother and I walked across the street to the Burger King in order to obtain WiFi. The fast food chain was open, but it was not …

Historical Traveler Reviews Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport Swords
Nice Hotel as New Hotels Go But go easy on the Gargle
Stayed in New Bewleys Dublin Airport after arriving back into Dublin Airport from a recent foreign holiday. Drove towards Malahide and around area for about 20 minutes from Old Belfast Road could not find it, drove back through small roads to Airport to find it is just off the end of M50 needs to be Signposted.
The hotel is big and New with Large rooms well equipped, but not high quality furnishings. The Car Park costs €1 euro an hour extra RIP OFF MAXIMUM €7 PER DAY. So it is only suitable to someone who is Going away for a few days to Park their cars and use Free Airport Shuttle Bus. I did not get to use their Bar facilities as they do not operate a residents lounge /night porter service. Also if you do decide to have a few or too many drinks and you are not used to Irish Porter and become sick in the washbasin ..beware you have to put your hand in the washbasin to turn the stopper to release the water etc,. It took 60 minutes to drive into Dublin at 9 am next morning due to traffic.
Overall the Price of €89 per room is only value if there are about 4 of you. sharing a room are you are not driving a car.
Stayed in this hotel with the idea that it would cost €89 per night. Don't be fooled - the car park is €7 per night & breakfast is €11 per person!
The night we stayed there we decided to have some bar food as the restaurant was booked out. After queuing for 15 mins to order some food I was promptly told to return to my seat & queue again in 10 mins as the chef was snowed under... However people behind me in the queue did get served immediatley after. It then took exactly 47 minutes for the food to arrive at the table after ordering (1 steak baguette & 1 fish and chips).
Bar staff also top up pints of guiness which have been settled for well over half an hour...When a memeber of floor staff was askef for 2 drinks the short curt reply was 'I will see what I can do'...Needless to say no drinks arrived!
Hope these are only teething problems as it is a nice hotel besides & food is good.
Perfect for passing through
We stopped here the night before our flight.
Rooms were very nice, spacious, beds comfortable - with tea and coffee facilities. Bathrooms nice and clean. There were ice machines on each floor - which the younger members of the family found useful, as the hotel was warm.
There is no atmosphere here, however. The place feels as impersonal as an airport. The restaurant is EXTREMELY slow, the food was WAY overpriced - especially considering the portions you were given. Not much selection either.
We left out car there for five days - a service we thought was excellent.
The shuttle bus was also excellent. You were never left waiting long for one, and they dropped you almost at the airport's door.
Stay if you're passing through. It's good value (room wise) - but not a "holiday" hotel.
Wonderful new hotel with TOP service too
We stayed at this hotel this past month for 3 days in total. We have visited Scotland twice before but this time was first visit to Ireland. We can't say enough good about this hotel. So let me list what we discovered after staying with this fine hotel chain.
1. unbeatable price =89 euros for all rooms.
2. brand new hotelL (opened June 06)
3. service is top (see below for explanation)
4. Food reasonable and not high prices but great quality
5. Very close to Airport with FREE fast service suttle to and from the airport.
6. Rooms are not real small as some other hotels we found in Ireland too
7. Great sercuity; need room key to get into elevators to rooms (However, nice area where hotel is located)
8. Internet also available as well.
As to Service. Here are examples of it:
We came in at 2:00 am on one of our dates. We needed three beds and when we opened the door to out room we discovered it had only two beds. We called and within 5 minutes Manager, yes the manager, came up and moved us quietly and quickly to another room himself.
Then when ever we called to get other things, i.e. towels or extra sheets, the service too was within ten minutes no matter what time we phoned.
At dinner, they even cooked the food the way we were use to it. We like broiled chicken which the did for us as well.
What a great hotel! We have never had a better one in our our stays. (in the past 5 years we have stayed in about 35 different places too, here and abroad.
You can't go wrong with this hotel. For now a secret, but I am sure as word gets out this place will be hard to come by for rooms.
Just stayed in Bewley's at Dublin Airport, or more correctly 2 miles from Dublin Airport. For a start the previous reviewer was impressed with the Bewley's coffee in the rooms. It obviously was an introductory feature as there is now no tea or coffee in the rooms. The tarriff may seem attractive at first glance but the fact that the carpark is €7 per night and the breakfast is extra and expensive and the food in general is very poor and overpriced and you see that it's maybe not the value it seems.
On the plus side the rooms are clean and roomy and the free internet access in the rooms is a welcome feature although this is standard in many countries.
The fact that I was asked for my credit card before the receptionist said "hello" was very annoying.
Stay if you must.....
New, Clean, Reasonable & Convenient
A nice surprise to find a hotel so modern, clean with all amenities for such a great price in Dublin.
Free Internet, comfortable beds, excellent lobby (meeting area), large room and best of all close to the airport for morning flights.
89 euro per night, a good deal for Dublin. (Our room could have easily slept four people, with room to spare.)
We found Bewleys on the 'hotel board' at Dublin airport. 89 Euros a night can't be bad! We had a nice surprise when we got there. Comfortable rooms, great service, great restaurant. Bewleys coffee in room! Felt relaxed there. Make this your next stop when you are in Dublin.
Great hotel - just working out a few kinks..
We stayed at this new hotel for one night basically because it was near the airport, had a shuttle, was new and the price was EXCELLENT. It's truly a beautiful hotel. It was clean and new and comfortable. My only complaint was that the room was so HOT! The hotel downstairs was nicely air conditioned but the room was horribly hot and stuffy. The window opened, kind of but not enough to let any air. It wasn't even hot outside and we were uncomfortable. I can't imagine what it would be like if it was a warm day. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was a bit of a circus. I cut them a lot of slack because the place had only been opened 3 weeks when we were there... but it was obvious no one knew what they were doing. To make matters worse, hardly anyone spoke english!!! It was like being home in California except no one working there spoke Spanish either. Very odd. I'm sure by now if not soon the restaurant will have things worked out and it will be a nice experience but for us, we seriously thought we were on MTVs Punk'd. Yes, it was that bad. The rooms were very nice and that bathrooms were fabulous!!! I would stay there again if I could open the window for fresh air! This is a winter only hotel as far as I'm concerned..
Arrived at 3am. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming.
Room was great.
Beds very comfortable.
Bathroom had plenty of towels and shower was so powerful. Great to ease aches after a long journey.
Check out time is 12 midday so Your able to have a lie in.
Breakfast is buffet but really good.
Plenty of cereals, fruit salad and real homemade bread.
Full fry also available and eggs are cooked to your preference in front of You.
Complimentary newspaper as well at reception.
Free shuttle bus to airport which takes about 15mins. Again driver really helpful.
Would highly reccommned this hotel if You have an early morning/late night flight.
Awesome NEW hotel at the airport
We were some of the first guests at the new Bewleys at the Dublin airport and our stay was awesome. The beds were comfortable and we loved the price. We had to go to the airport at 4 am to catch a 6 am flight and the staff were so helpful in getting us there on time.
If you have to stay at the airport in Dublin, this brand new hotel is the best and most beautiful airport hotel I have ever seen. I am an architect and I was really impressed with the details and the service. You can't go wrong for the price (89 Euros)
