We decided to go to Tahoe using a Worldmark deal. We stayed the night in El Dorado with Robin on December 29th to help break up the drive. We left bright and early to drop JT off at Heavenly daycare and we went boarding. Well we happened to go on a day where it's Tahoes coldest and windiest. We only did a few runs because only 2 lifts were opened, Stagecoach and comet. The visibility was so bad and he wind was worse. When there was a gust of wind, it was impossible to see. It ...

... lake I have ever seen. It is a wondrous sight to behold. We are surrounded by snowy peaks and endless trees although the ground remains incredibly sandy. I really expected to see soil up here. I've longed for some real dirt under my feet! I voiced this to a fellow higher who is from the area and all he said was, "Welcome to DG." I later learned that DG stands for decomposed granite. Womp womp.

On monday we drove through death valley, which was indeed very dead, and after a lot of downhill driving the brakes began to smell.of burning and smoke was coming off of them! At this point we stopped in the middle of nowhere and were convinced of the reason why the place got.its name. Luckily.our little fiesta opted to continue functioning, especially with the next ordeal. A few hours north, around carson city, we got stuck.in ...

... our tour guide told us he had been awakened at 5.30 by soft footsteps and snuffling... It turns out the camp had an early morning visitor a black bear and her cub! We had put all the food and smelly stuff in bear proof lockers and it seems that it worked as she check everything out but moved on without finding anything to eat. Gold Stars all round.

Jalen's 1st trip to tahoe was horrible. We went through a timeshare offer and the resort was so bad we left 1 day early! We saw our presentation which was horrible experience and checked out early. The room was small, dingy and so outdated. No AC as well and it was hot. We went to the Lake which was nice and Jalen dipped his feet in for the 1st time. He wasn't a fan because it was too cold. ...
