... these people apply to programs to go to the US and get in, but they can’t afford it. I was so caught up talking to different students that all of a sudden I looked around and there were only a few SAS people left out of the 150.
Right when we got to the orphanage there was one little boy, Daniel, probably 5 years old, who came running up to me and gave me a huge hug. He was the cutest!! I gave him a bunch of stickers that I brought. He put them all over his face, neck ...
... law, but it has been interesting to see the differences in the system here, compared to home, and the people in the office seem very friendly. I've only spent a few days there so far, so there's not much to tell yet, but I've also been doing more work at the orphanage. The higher courts in Ghana are on summer recess at the moment until October, so my days at the law firm have been spent reading cases, writing notes on my thoughts and questions, questioning the 2 junior ...
Accra, Ghana emmav... and it was a great way to spend a few hours of my layover in the city. Johannesburg struck me as simultaneously rich and poor, with an important history, and clearly a lot of work still to be done before the World Cup reaches there next year. After 12 hours in Johannesburg, it was back onto the plane, bound for Ghana. Before I even reached Accra, I was becoming aware that Africans from all over are much more open in their friendships than we are. Since arriving here, I have ...

... upload so that you guys can see what I've been doing. But it's all on my laptop, so you will have to wait until I get decent internet access at a real internet cafe in the big city.
But really, everything is great. I'm learning a lot of drumming, dancing, and cooking. I'm working hard at picking up the language. Ewe is very hard to learn. Like I said, hopefully I'll be able to get online this next week and I'll give you a much better update.

... malaria, HIV/AIDS and oth** destructive diseases. These countries, which have suff**ed so much through the years of colonianlism and the failures of independence are now growing into themselves and I feel great hope and belief that they will become (and ore well on the way to) really strong, viable, proseprous, safe, stable and wealthy nations.
