... was highly recommended to us by friends who have also visited Amsterdam. The canal tour was so fun, we drifted through the city for an hour, and got to see the sites from a different perspective. It was definitely a good way for us to decide which sites we wanted to go see that day, and to learn our way around. After the boat tour we stopped and grabbed coffee (literally our savior this trip, and no, not from one of "those" coffee shops!) and walked along the streets ...

... what I thought was the smallest mains I had ever seen as next we had an ice cream type course, it turns out this was a palate cleanser so all good we got mains and then a trilogy of chocolate sweets. We sat with a lovely group of people a mix of six Aussies and a Canadian couple I think we were the last to leave - gotta love this endless supply of drinks! Just about finished our stay in Amsterdam and tomorrow drive to Bruge. What an absorbing City Amsterdam is with so much to see in a small area, people watching has been eye opening and Noah must have stopped the ark here cause there's definitely two of everything ! Have fallen in love with bitterballen the crumbed savoury snack you have with beers, just great. Was going to give the raw herrings a go but ...

... priced ham sandwich in exchange for using the museums excellent free WiFi as I have learned that just because there is WiFi does not mean it is good.

In my original plan following the van Gogh museum I would check out the art work at the Riijks museum. This plan fell through when looking into the museum lobby, imagining another few hours getting my museum saunter on , my lower back and feet started aching in anticipation. Perhaps I will check it out ...
