... so it was amazing to actually be here while it was fresh in our minds. We also wandered through the 9 streets in Jordaan. Checked out a few vintage shops, some boutiques, record stores and ate the most amazing apple pie ever. With the weather at minus 1 it was hard to just wander without purpose today though. Even the locals are feeling the cold - unusual cold snap just now ...

... Gives window shopping a whole new meaning. These ones were on the other side of the street to the Old Church and had to be chased out of the church in days gone by. Our train trip was a disaster to say the least, but I will leave that to Mr H to explain in another blog!

Thanks for reading and lots of love.

A travel blog entry by dblegldave on May 16, 2014

It's Friday, May 16 and the last day in Europe before we fly home tomorrow. Today is a travel day, heading from Berlin to Amsterdam. It will take six hours and 14 stops, but fortunately, no train changes. I think we are both getting a little tired of "schlepping" our bags all over Europe and didn't need six train changes between Berlin and Amsterdam. I woke up early...5:45. Like a college kid with a ...
