... little ones would be in any danger.
It was wonderful to see how these micro loans were making a positive difference in the communities. Without these zero interest loans, they would have been forced to buy government loans that had a 50% interest rate! Truly, HOPE is benefiting here greatly!
In the afternoon, I got to go a see the fishermen come in with their catch. They all worked together along ...
... answer off the top of my head was no! If I had to live this way, I would but if not I would choose the way I live now in the US. Why? It all came down to things! Yes, just things! The physical comforts of life tipped the scales for me! Nothing else like relationships, family, friends or community really came into the picture. Well they came into the picture or radar screen ...
Tharangambadi, Tamil Nadu, India jdcasazza... br>
The bus ride to Tharangambadi was about 45 minutes. The bus had to go through the town gate before dropping us off. It was a very old gate built in 1791 so the bus took about 5 minutes inching its way through the gate with only inches on each side.
We are staying at the Bungalow on the Beach hotel. We, the Casazza's are staying in one Bungalow which is right next to ...
... that they are very close too. They do all know one another and look out for each other.
Okay, let me see what would I'd rather have; (1) bad living conditions with happy, close, tight family/community relationships or (2) great living conditions with shallow, superficial relationships and little family/friends around?
I think God wants me to value ...

Trankebar, Tamil Nadu, India nanagnana... ve been planning our weekend destinations by our meals really. We made sure we planned every meal to be absolutely amazing, and we endulged. Every meal happened to be a four course meal for me, even breakfast. We visited this amazing ice-cream bar and I nearly cried from happiness because they had A/C. We found a Heritage Walk in our Lonely Planets that led us to really pretty churches and eventually the Ghandi memorial statue. The beach there was nice, but ...

Pudhukuppam, India danskgirl... swim there but there is a massive statue of Gandhi. According to the LP book the food is a revelation here but only if you think overpriced european food is I say (apart from the very indian veg. Thali's in Le Cormandale, yum). It is a bustling town or city as it would be in Ireland, and even though you have to shelter between 12-4 which in our case involves eating or sleeping, we did make a sweaty effort to walk around too but even out of those hours it ...
Pondicherry, India danskgirl... separated by a canal; the French quarter [[Ville de Blanche) and the Indian quarter (Ville de Noir). Many streets still retain their French names and French style villas are a common sight in Pondicerry. In the French quarter, the buildings are typically colonial style with long compounds and stately walls. It was into this European enclave, that myself, Dave, Clint and Jim along with eight Canadian OT's, stepped into. The menu's were of course all presented in ...
Pondicherry, India nickjorgoPondicherry used to be the only bit of France in India, until it got independance about 50 years ago, it still retains it's french feel though, the roads are all called "Rue de xyz" and there is a lot of French food (of very variable quality). We spent 3 days just hanging ...
