    ... to find that we are in the Rogue Valley. We will probably be set upon by vagabonds and footpads when we leave the hotel. The hotel is charming and we have a gorgeous view from our room on to the river.

    I am surprised that Barbara didn't mention the calamity that befell me earlier in the trip. I bought a lovely and expensive picture in the big city but forgot to bring it with me when we got on the bus. That's right: I left my art in San Francisco....

Anyway, we went through a security check point and almost had to surrender all our produce we managed to stuff into our pockets at the continental breakfast.
