We finally got an offer in on the house!! We had two showings this weekend and one of them put in an offer! We counteroffered today. Now we'll see if they accept! And if so, we'll be on our way to selling the house! And this person already has sold their house and is planning to close on Tuesday. So we don't even have a contingent offer on him selling his house. Man oh man oh man I hope that this works!
Just a quick note...
Jacqui and I made it back home from our awesome 16 day cruise. I'm gonna work on posting up all of the days' entries and pictures.
We still haven't sold our house yet... But on a good note, the house wasn't buried in snow when we got home either! I'm heading out to Brazil on Saturday, so we've got a lot to finish up before then.
I'm getting kinda antsy again...been in the office for 3 weeks now. Luckily on Monday I head to Finland and Sweden. I'm getting to take an all-expenses cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm and back for 3 days for an end-of-project meeting! Then I go to Russia for a week to train some operators and maintenance personnel on our equipment.
I'm trying to plan out ...
... turned around and went back. I did make it all the way to the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. But it was $16 to get in so I decided to wait until I have Jacqui with me to go in with me.
Here's the route<
The first part of the ride from the village of Lake George to Glens Falls is mostly on a bike trail. It was nice to have a shorter, much flatter ride the next day down to Easton Mountain, where I attended a retreat over Labor Day weekend.
... south down the woodsy east side of the lake. To get to the western shore of Lake George, I had to tackle the biggest climb of the trip up CR 11 - not recommended at the end of a long day - but spectacular views down across the lake at the summit. That night, I camped at a fantastic state campground right on the banks of the lake.
Although this route was not in the guidebooks, I think this was the most spectacular ride of the trip. I started out pretty early in the morning, riding a good part of the first hour or so in fog. Heading south along the east branch of the Au Sable River - very little traffic. And then southeast along route 73 - some memorable ...
Schroon Lake, New York, United States drewcbSomeone up there must like us - it rained all day Saturday, but we had booked Friday and Saturday nights at the Glen Lodge so we didn't need to bike. Although, since we didn't have a car, we were getting cabin fever by evening, and biked down to Warrensburg to get some dinner. Otherwise, I got a lot of reading done.
The morning was chilly and overcast, but dry as we headed north. Hills increased as we approached the southern border of Adirondack Park, roads became more quiet, and the scenery more striking. This strenuous day which ended with a climb of over a mile and then a fast descent into the Warrensburg area.
We got up in the morning and packed everything up. There was a sneaker vendor at the Garage Sale that everyone wanted to check out. And some of us wanted another bag of Kettle Corn ... YUM!
After the sneaker vendor, we parted ways. We went into Queensbury to Aviation Mall to park the truck ...
