    ... end of the week. They thought they could make room for us on Friday so we became eligible for one of the full service slots in their parking lot.     ... and that was after Alex bounced into me and almost knocked me overboard. Fortunately, I was able to stay in the boat. No one would have ever believed he was the cause. A couple times we entered areas of the river where all was calm and swimming was permitted.     Day 2 of camping in the Adirondacks was just what I really enjoy. The rain had continued the entire night, which was actually a nice sound on the tarp Alex had placed above our tent. We remained bone dry the entire night. Alex slept in, so I hiked a bit around the lake. As I approached the camp, I walked up on a deer, probably 10 feet away.
