    Convenient

This worked fine for us as the hotel shuttle was perfect and the room fine. The hotel is however under major refurbishment and was using adjacent businesses for breakfast & food. You needed to cope with paint & cleaning smells in corridors - no big deal for us.
    Don't expect to walk anywhere.

First thing, we walked Dallas a little looking for a reasonable breakfast (i.e. not fried/donuts) and eventually found a nice café. Also saw the restored Pegasus on the old Mobil building.
Took the light railway to the airport (dubious goings on at the stop) and a transfer bus to sort our plane. DFW is a big airport.

... that was pretty sweet to learn about at 5am. Chicago was easily one of my favourite places so far, along with Montreal, Phillie and New York. 48 was not long enough to see everything, but long enough to completely fall in love with the place. I am learning so so much every day and am super excited to share all of my crazy stories with my family and friends whenever I return home. Chi town I will be back! Goodbye Chicago and ello Vancouver !

    Beautiful, yet rainy

Chicago welcomed us with rainy weather and it rained almost all the time (one week) we spent there. I recall having only one sunny day. But well, apart from the weather other things were just great in Chicago!

While there, we stayed in Mount Prospect, about 40 minutes away by train. A single ride costs 4,5 USD. We started our adventure in Chicago by taking a trolley ride in the city which we got as a gift. ...

... from the day before. I sat under a tree in a corner of grant park and people watched while I ate. After breakfast I did the first of my self guided walking tours for the day. This one was around Millennium park. Millennium park is a 24.5 acre park that opened in 2004. Stop number 1 was the Crown Fountain, it is supposed to be an interactive fountain that displays faces and periodically shoots water from their lips. Unfortunately when ...
