    Great Value

We needed a place to stay near the airport and the Mall of America. This place was convenient to both, and offered a free shuttle from the airport for my son. The lobby was very nice, and the desk clerks helpful. Rooms were comfortable, although one of our rooms had a burned out light bulb in the bathroom. Management was unable to change it, so they put a lamp in the bathroom, which seemed rather strange. Breakfast (included) was decent, and included hot and cold foods.

    The Gang's All Here!

A travel blog entry by lindaonthego on Jun 28, 2013

We had hoped to leave around 7:00, and hit the road at 7:45 a.m. ET (not bad for us!). We drove 3 cars (yes, 3!) over to Merrillville to meet both sets of grandparents at Cracker Barrel for breakfast, and to drop off our dog, Jolie, who will be spending the next couple of weeks with Grandpa & Grandma H. From there we said our good-byes, and …

This year's trip to Minnesota begins on Leah's 17th birthday. Since I figured out we have been coming to Cass Lake since 2005, that means we've been doing this for 10 years, and we started this tradition when Leah was only seven! (Chloe was five, Seth was 11, and Jared was 13.)

Since we downsized vehicles over the past year, and have people coming and going and different times, we are again taking two vehicles. We (Tom, Linda, Leah & Chloe) will be in the CRV, and Seth ...

... contagious disease and I am slightly worried that we will be singled out at airport security as potential bio hazards! Anyone sad enough to have an atlas may notice that we seem to be missing a big chunk of America out in our journey from coast to coast. Not so. Over the next two weeks we will go back and fill in the blanks of South Dakota and Wyoming. We are going to Minneapolis today to ...

... if the US had converted to the metric system while we had been away. But after 100 miles, when we were just reaching the outskirts of Tucson, the signs doubled up – some measuring in kilometers and others in miles. Then when we entered Tucson, it switched to all in miles. We were in the US for sure. The next two weeks consisted of getting insurance for the Monja for the time while she was in the states, trying to sell her, and spending ...

... 8217;s about an hour left in the trip.

There’s no way I’ll last an hour in here without puking. I wait for my chance and stumble to the door without falling in anyone’s lap. There are more people out here than before, and I take the only available spot at the railing. It seems windier and wetter than my last redoubt, and I’m periodically engulfed in exhaust fumes. “I can do this for an hour,” I tell myself as the nausea wanes, but ...
