We had hoped to leave around 7:00, and hit the road at 7:45 a.m. ET (not bad for us!). We drove 3 cars (yes, 3!) over to Merrillville to meet both sets of grandparents at Cracker Barrel for breakfast, and to drop off our dog, Jolie who will be spending the next couple of weeks with G&G Hanstra. From there we said our good-byes, and then headed …

We needed a place to stay near the airport and the Mall of America. This place was convenient to both, and offered a free shuttle from the airport for my son. The lobby was very nice, and the desk clerks helpful. Rooms were comfortable, although one of our rooms had a burned out light bulb in the bathroom. Management was unable to change it, so they put a lamp in the bathroom, which seemed rather strange. Breakfast (included) was decent, and included hot and cold foods.
