Day 2, Virginia International Raceway VA
... the North Paddock, with rooms above the paddock garages where we parked our cars overnight.
One interesting note: When we arrived at VIR we knew we were tight on petrol but the gauge was showing what we thought was enough to do the laps on the circuit. And our spare jerrycan was empty!
Well, we were "dry" as we entered the approach straight to the circuit! We had to borrow a gallon of fuel from David and Johanna.

Frederick MD to VIR VA - 559km
... pretty “villa” type appartments by the side of the track - perfect for race viewing days but as usual we had little time to enjoy the time there as check had to be done on the car for damage etc. In fact, there is usually little time to even write this report so apologies for all errors in grammar.
Despite all these dramas we were 9th overall at the end of the day.

Running these dirty old streets
Today we went North and slightly west. It had rained all night and into the morning so we dealt with soggy fields all day. At the first site I had to walk across a field and down a path to get to the treatment field. When I got to the treatment there was a fawn bedded down right next to the path. I got one look at him and he got one look at me and took off into the woods.

... This big tom must of had a 12 inch plus beard and weighed over 20lbs. At first glance I thought it was a big black dog running across the field.
Today was a test run for Shannon to bring his dog General to South Carolina with us. He passed with flying colors. General is a big block headed black lab with a mellow demeanor. He rode fine in truck, mainly just slept and was well behaved ...
