October 19, 2009<br><br>We drove to the ski town of Stowe and spent a sunny afternoon biking along the river, the path criss-crossing the river by way of ten bridges, bordering pastures and farms. The leaves are falling and the colors fading but it was still a pleasant ride ending at the Brookdale covered bridge. <br><br>

Left Bennington this morning (32 degrees!), and rode through small villages and beautiful countryside to The Shelburne Museum. We had 3 hours to explore it and only scratched the surface. Since the trip from New Hampshire to Vermont was only going to be a couple of hours, we took the long way, seeing some great vista's and getting lost only a couple of times. Mary K capped it all off by accompanying us on a hike to the summit of Camel's Hump, Vermont's third highest peak, and Steve prepared a delicious meal for us that evening.
