Did you know that La Brea is Spanish for tar? This means that the La Brea Tar Pits are really the tar tar pits. Anyway, all the fossils there are really preserved in asphalt, not tar........ It was brilliant there and I need to change quite a few things in my PowerPoint on fossilisation.... We caught a taxi there and back - spent $95 all up on taxis including tips.
