... up to date on our travels. Last night we stayed in a park in Maryland (apparently illegally) and woke up to a fun note on our car signed by Officer Dingus. This has actually been the most difficult part of this section, finding places to sleep (as we aren't staying in hotels.) We are now at a beautiful home in Maryland staying with Nick's very friendly family friends. We are off to DC tomorrow to see the sights!
... earthquake damage. So we arrive back at the hotel with enough time to chill or go to the gym. I go for option 1. I meet some colleagues at the bar and the decision is Tex Mex. I get back and FaceTime Helen and head back to the gym. I have 45 mins on the bike and feel much better for it.
We then go to Gilly's Craft Beer and Fine Wine Bar for pre dinner drinks and nibbles. We share the cheese board which has 5 cheeses and bizarrely 2 are from Wales. The Harlech cheese contains horseradish and is yummy. The beer selection in Gilly's is very good, and I firstly have the ...
... I headed back to the hotel. I made it back at 10pm and found a pizza place just around the corner. A slice of pizza and a diet pepsi and finally a shower. Very good.
On Monday I saw the National Gallery of Art (both buildings), grabbed a beer, then a donut, collected my holdall from the hotel, headed to the station and ate a late lunch of 'rattlesnake pasta'. It's not as adventurous as it sounds; it was chicken and jalapeno peppers with a creamy sauce and lots ...

It was a very emotional reunion on Friday night as, despite my flight landing in DC at 1am, my host family insisted that they pick me up at the airport as is the Korean custom.
