Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia goontack... we went up, turned out to be a gig by Paul Dempsey, who is the lead singer of Something for Kate, this was his solo project, and it was great. Ive heard many a song of his on Triple J and it was awesome to hear him live, and for free. We then proceeded to the local night club which was pretty boring with **** music so Kamil and myself bailed on Sam who had hooked in with a lady. He made it back to the hostel a bit after 6am. <br>The following day, with 3 hours sleep, Kamil and myself went ...
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia goontack... Reserve. It is not very clear how to get there from the train so we stopped in a residential area with the map out looking at it blankly and an extremely nice older aussie couple came out, invited us up for lemonade and biscuits and drove us to the entrance. She was paying it forward; her son travelled overseas and people helped him out heaps. The reserve was very nice, not ...
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia trizzyb... where we parked, surfed, and spent last night). They had roo's and wallabies that you could pet and feed and a wombat. I never really had seen a wombat before and that thing has ************ his back side that you can knock on like a door. I guess its a defense mechanism. We also pet some koalas. Good times. Then we found a surf shop that used boards and picked up a cheap one ...
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia struchen... for it. Once checked in we were able to rest, unpack, and clean ourselves up before we headed to the free pub dinner at The Brewery with a bunch of other people from the hostel as well as another close by hostel. When 5:30 pm came around I think the whole hostel was there ready to go and get a free pub meal. While we were waiting Brad wanted me to talk to some people who we thought were American, but ...
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia ajmoya86Road Trip from Byron Day 3 The day started out with a delicious P and J sandwich and a treasure hunt complete with a hand drawn map for a radiator hose, a cup of long black coffee prepared by Ashleigh (Jerad's girlfriend), and the infamous Nerd's Rope at the Lolly Shop. The cup of coffee was as tastey and empowering as always. The radiator hose had to ordered for ...
Newcastle, Australia kalchalker... driving by in the dark. The combination of drink and no stopping quickly made us realise what the funnel at the front door would be for. Although no problem for men, girls were also supposed to use it. Apparently we broke the record for the amount of girls that used it. The rest of the weekend was pretty good but the snowboarding and skiing completely wore us out and we were hardly doing Durham proud on the nights. We made up for it however at the almost free Surf School ...
Manly, Seal Rocks and the Snowy Mountains, Australia hudsondino... and made an effort to communicate with each other. As we stopped off at our first vineyard Text said that it was the newest one in the area and you could tell this on looks alone because the place was very clean. We tasted a few whites and reds and then tried a couple of desert wines which were very sweet and syrupy! We soon made our way to another vineyard, it was only after Tex said that we would be visiting 6 more showed us what kind of day we were in for. After the ...
Newcastle, Australia hornets222... at Seal Rocks. And what a place...this Seal Rocks! Beautiful, kind of like Big Sur, with a big headland and a lighthouse and the clearest blue water and we went for a surf...the waves were pretty good and dozens of dolphins swam right up to us and around us playing and riding waves and whales were breaching further out. Some nice waves were caught and some nice views were had. And here we are now in Newcastle, still on our way to Sydney.
Newcastle, Australia mikelaurence... found we had roommates, Tim and Emma from England, of course. They were only staying one night because they work in Sydney. Jim slept for a bit then we went for an awesome walk on the beach. It was a nice, balmy wind. After dinner, we did some trip planning and worked out a rough itinerary to Cairns. Sun. Feb. 25 Jim was up early again, to the sound of noise. He had breakfast while I sat with him, then I went back to bed. He went on a dive course to Manly Beach at 8:30 ...
