... draw the panels down over all the windows producing a night time ambiance.
Consequently we lost any notion of time...a timeless cocoon.

The progress continued West flying between Sapporo and Hakodate, Japan. It seemed at moments that we were flying over the East Sea in a race with the sun to Seoul, Korea and the sun won. When or where exactly did we come up a day short, can't say...but ...
Atlanta Airport, Georgia, United States gonzdom... The kids saw a truck in the parking lot that looked like Uncle Rick's truck and we told him he wasn't here with us on this trip but maybe the next one.... (hint hint :-) Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for all of the prayers. We know Jesus heard your prayers, we're still not sure about Grandpa's though. Our next stop is a hotel in Orlando FL. We'll be back then!!

Love,

Wendell, Kiesha, Aliyah, Jada, Frank, & Chris (
Twin City, Georgia, United States schubbefamily... to see Seth after a week of sleeping alone and missing him.
Millen is a very, very small town situated in the eastern part of Georgia. Over the last year the small town has experienced tremendous amounts of economic tragedy. Several factories and buisnesses that were helped to keep Millen going have been closed. You can see the seriousness of the situation in so many of the resident's faces. Because of these struggles crime ...
Millen, Georgia, United States sethnjessnobles... US 1 we stopped briefly to have lunch in Baxley and then a little further still, turned off onto the 56 towards Reidsville where we found Gordonia-Alatamaha S.P. much easier than we had expected. It's a really nice site but there's ************e here. The camp host told us that the weekends in April were busier than they have been in September. It seems the economic climate is starting to have a wider-reaching effect than just home foreclosures (repossessions). The big ...
Reidsville, Georgia, United States thebusmonkeys... Olympic park again before heading back to the car and off into the sunset. Our accommodation for the night was in a very pleasant Colonial-looking place in Thomson where, as you may have guessed, the Meal of the Day was served - a piece of white fish, stuffed with crabmeat and shrimp, accompanied by steamed vegetables. I am beginning to think that I am eating too healthily. More burgers next week I think. We joined a few of the locals in the ...
Thomson, Georgia, United States robnick... stop at the next public building to use a restroom...... i stopped at an orthodox church, the door was open, but i couldn't find the bathroom. it was okay, because just by walking for a minute, my stomach calmed down and we continued running :o) we got back to the hotel, showered, and ate breakfast. it was great to have grits :o) my mom makes them every so often because she is southern, but i hadn't had them in a LONG time.
Americus, Georgia, United States kforemanwoke up at 5:00AM and i was so excited to leave that i got ready too fast.. i ended up sitting around waiting for my ride for 20 minutes. oops, hehe. the carpool i was in had to wait for a guy to wake up (10 mins).. and then the whole group (17 people) had to wait for our TA to wake up & drive over to the bus station for 30 minutes... lol. we left west lafayette an hour later than hoped.
Americus, Georgia, United States kforeman... down there!" before they drunkly disappeared to catch the subway at half one in the morning :-) I must admit the people were not dangerous but they were definitely Rednecks and proud of it. There is a current hit down there, which is their equivalent of "The Fields Of Athenry" called "I am a redneck woman".When it comes on, whole bars start whoopin and hollerin, folks start doing the two step and wimmin get misty eyed when ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States sunnysean... in her life! It was tasty. We took a stroll down the lovely waterfront area before calling it a night. Savannah is truly a uniquely beautiful American city, and we look forward to tomorrow when we begin our day with a Savannah Tour. (Round America Photos from Savannah Georgia) The biggest lesson we learned today, or most important observation, is ...
Statesboro, Georgia, United States roundamericaWe managed to get lost two additional times today. It appears that one of the great challenges of driving around the country on two-lane roads will be FINDING the darned roads. Highway 8 to Dacula (that's Dracula without the R) just isn't marked clearly. We may need that GPS system that Uncle Ward told us to take. We took a number ...
