Last on our agenda was a factory tour at Gibson Guitar. Full production was not going on as it is Saturday but we saw all the stages from a block of wood to a finished guitar. Pretty amazing. No photos allowed so I can't share any of it with you....you will just have to come to Memphis and see for yourself! ...

I am not trying to be too figurative when I say that I traveled the music highway. I-40 West from Nashville to Memphis has sign boards along the way that call out "Music Highway".
I reached Memphis in the afternoon after a very easy drive from Nashville. I checked into a hotel and immediately walked out to Beale street to see whats going on. It was eerily empty although almost every bar and shop was playing some blue/jazz music.

When the group heard I'd asked him to go over, they brought the burger over to us and took our photo with it! ... to have spent it in the National Civil Rights Museum, which has been built at the site of the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King was murdered. We did hear that the museum is very well done, and you can easily spend an entire afternoon there.
