We were told of the "Steve Irwin" look-alike, so we decided to head inland for a couple of days to spend some time with the Daltons. Nisele,Wynita and childrin, live on a farm in Victoria. We fished for Murrey Cod in the Great Murrey River, hunted roos ("professionally") played on the sandbar in the river, caught "yabbies , and had an awesome time with our new friends.

We were away from Swan Hill by 9am this morning and after a few stops along the way arrived in Mildura by 2pm. Our fuel economy was shocking on Wednesday so we aimed to stick to 90km/h along the way and as it was flat kept the cruise control on to keep the speed steady. Today dawned nice and sunny, so we took the opportunity of nice weather and went to the Pioneer Settlement. This is a very professionally presented reconstruction of an early settlement. There is the Gem a paddlesteamer - landlocked now, but still floating on water and on Stage 6 of a 13 stage refurbishment project.
