Mileage: 10 miles Altitude Gain:1500 ft. Today we awoke at beautiful Susie lake. We both were sick of instant oatmeal so we didn't eat much for breakfast. The climb up to Aloha Lake was pretty fast I think the "horses could smell the barn". We stopped at the lake striped to our skivvies an dove into the crystal blue waters. It was bracing but swimable! We then ...

I seriously cannot believe I am going to be traveling so soon! It seems like just yesterday we were having our last trip meeting that marked 3 weeks till we leave. Now it's 4 days. I'm just shocked. I can't wait to do this on my own. It's one thing to have your parents with you, but I'm doing this all on my own. It's going to be a weird feeling not having them with me... ... this area was clear cut to power the saw mills and was replanted. Trees are big but not huge. The campground is in a hilly and rocky area so that some sites are in valleys and some on the hills. There are at least 2 meadows that we’ve seen so far and saw a deer run across the one across the road from our site.

There is no cell service at all and no internet so we have a very quiet life this week!

... I really don’t know why I did it that way, but it worked out. Apparently Michelle doesn’t go on facebook to much, but her cousin Jess (who also went to high school with us) saw my post on her wall and called up Michelle. If it hadn’t have been for Jess seeing the wall post we would have never met up with Michelle, so it was lucky that I did it that way.

Michelle came over to the campground around 5:30pm or so. We hung out at our site for a while catching up ...
