Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States jasonmarshToday Frank stayed home to make us his famous pork chili. Takes hours of love and we were all grateful. Antonio went for another long marathon training run. Chuck, Hector & Diana went foraging for Jack In The Box, an Apple store and a double feature ;) "Couples Retreat" & "Whip It" both good and more importantly cheap. Only $6.50 and you know we did the 2 fer 1 cause we're geto(boys) like that. Made it back to home base in time to see Dollhouse and feast on dinner. Great day for all.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States fotogeeks... yesterday an 'Emergency Half-Day' was declared so everyone could go home and tune up their gear for the first turns of the season. Call in sick, take a personal day, or just play hooky - but whatever you do just get up to Loveland and revel in the fact that Winter has officially arrived!
Loveland, Colorado, United States colorado_ski... up to the top. It's 19 miles from the base to the top and it was sorta like the drive up to Mt. Evans, minus the extremely narrow road and lack of guardrails! My palms were sweating from time to time and my heart raced at some points in the road where there was nothing, not even a guardrail that separated our car and a 10K+foot plunge to our death! The Smokey Mountains and Appalacian's don't have **** on the Rockies ...
Cascade, Colorado, United States kimmytravelsWith our van loaded, we traveled to Colorado Springs. Right before the border with Colorado we drove through a thunderstorm. It was something I've never experienced before. The kids were asleep, amazing!
We stayed in the building where Ted's work is. South Side Jonnies was the last pub we stopped in for a soda before we returned home. They had a Jazz Band but we didn't stay that long enough to enjoy it. Tomorrow we must resume our long ride homeward bound to PA. We returned to Mary, our hostess' home, to a relaxing night in the hot tub again. Wonderful! This is probably one blog you won't forget. I know I won't. Daniel and Joe (and Mary)
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States ridewithjoe... exits on both sides (something they're fond of here) and with drivers who overtake/ undertake/ fill Malc's safety gap he leaves for emergencies, all at about 70 miles an hour, you will perhaps sympathize with my anxiety!! It all came as rather a shock after the peaceful roads we have been used too of late. But I have to say it is getting easier - well I can't get any greyer can I? No matter, we made it into Colorado our ...

Brian stayed true to his hard core roots and swam for about 100 meters in water that was so cold even the river guide told Brian he was crazy. A good 30 minutes in front of the fireplace at the raft house successfully thawed Brian out and with that, we were back on the road. Next stop, Moab Utah.
Denver, Colorado, United States wanderlust2000... into a room full of "family" brought out every shy tendency I have! The pictures in the photo album of the family took over an hour to get. This is a LARGE group. The next day my sister Marily, her husband Andrew and their two kids, AJ & Candace, and our family drove to Garden of the Gods and had a great time tromping all around there. Hope you enjoy the photo album.
