    ... but the track was open to the Hidden Falls - cascading down fed by melting snow. We returned jus tin time to beat the return of showery weather. Jackson itself was our next destination with its frontier town look of wooden board walks and shop with western facades. Plenty of touristy cowboy gear to buy but a nice atmosphere. we enjoyed exploring the town square and its shops. A giant supermarket allowed us to replenish supplies and get ingredients for a home-cooked ...

    ... boat across Jenny Lake and then walked the surprisingly easy trail, flanked by sheer mountains on either side. Grand Teton itself had glaciers and fresh snow on it, but we were walking in lovely sunshine….until it started raining on the way back.

    ... and women who kept the show rolling along and seemingly mostly safely. We woke today to clouds as we prepare to leave for Yellowstone. This is the first cloudy day we have had since our first night in PA at the beginning of the trip. The weather here has been the best of anywhere. Nights have been in the 50s and days in the mid 80s -- a welcome change from the 109 we experienced in Moab. Things will get even cooler in Yellowstone as we head further North later ...

    ... with those big mountains behind them and it was almost surreal. From there we drove to Jackson, Wyoming and had a delicious lunch of buffalo sloppy Joe sandwiches, Greek salad and peaches and cream soup. The peaches and cream soup served as dessert.
