Back on base at Meredyth's and on Friday we go to Waco Zoo in Cameron Park. This is relatively small and child friendly. so much so that it was heaving with school trips in the morning. it was quite well done but rather small enclosures for the lions & tiger. Max had a great time.
Saturday morning and after a visit to the Sunday/Pre-school Yard Sale, where Meredyth gets 3 boxes of train track stuff for $20, we head to Temple station for the train back ...

Meredyth & the kids picked us up and it was home for supper. This is an enormous base (seemingly 214,000 acres and 54,000 people) but at least they let us in with Meredyth on the basis of our passports so no tedious security passes needed. Just remember to go out of the house with your passport.

Even if it is a few flurries, you break everything warm out you have, and act like it is a freakin' blizzard!! Or at least that is what we do in my house. My husband is from Chicago so he things it's hilarious! Whatever, we have fun!!!!! ...

... farm in Hermleigh, TX. There are hundreds of these things all around me. I guess in Texas its go big or go home.

Pic 10 - Sweetwater: The only reason I stopped in Sweetwater is because I needed gas. As a kid we stopped in this town. My sister and I raced to a fountain because after all this is "Sweetwater". After two gulps of the worst tasting and smelling water I wanted out!

Austin, Whole Foods and the phone takes a dive

... to drive around downtown Austin. After circling the city and seeing the Capitol building and the University, we headed to the original Whole Foods where the girls had dim sum and pizza, Tad had a burrito and I had a Thai chicken curry bowl. We hit the bookstore next door to purchase a road atlas and tour books on New Orleans and Florida. Back at the hotel, the girls ran around the lobby pond and Brynn dropped Tad's phone INTO the pond while filming the swans. Miraculously it ...
