... they have. They symbolize the country than only want to "move forward". Let's hope that in this present economic climate they do just that! I bought a bar of nougat (yummy!) which I ate along with a flat white at David Jones' food court. Eventually I took the bus back at about 3-4pm. Michael BBQ'd us a delicious steak which he had got at the local butcher. Oh to be able to walk to decent shops and pick up a few items! Dream on!
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia acctaste... Today we went to the beach which, believe it or not, is the first day at the beach we've had on this trip. It was definitely worth it as it's nice and sunny here. So we are staying in Adelaide for a few more days while we wait for our bank details to be sent on and we'll then fly to Melbourne, home of Neighbours and maybe look for some temp work so we could end up staying there for a while. Hope things are snowy and cold in England.
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia kangorooisland... would be celebrating new years day (Warrnambool was 30 minutes before us!) Just before midnight we went onto the balcony to watch the Glenelg fireworks and peer at the drunken youths below! Our walk home involved fish and chips, lucky timing to catch the free new years bus and a helium filled rendition of the 'hokey- kokey' - a normal night out with Will and Liz! New Years Day gave us a headache, a great brekfast and sunburnt ...
Glenelg, South Australia, Australia samandchantal... for him to join us and despite this he still manages to be in good spirits. The kids are feral tonight after two late nights in a row and are difficult to get to bed. Monday Dec 22nd We woke late this morning, it's warm and overcast and we have to leave for Melrose; no packing preparation has been completed last night as we went straight to bed once Erin and Lachie left. Finally we leave the caravan park at 10.30am, Greg is unhappy. I think it is because we're ...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia millersofozThis morning started with two extensive wardrounds. First with the residents only, followed by a paper round with the consultants and specialists, and ended with another wardround with the consultant and specialist. One of the pathologies we see a lot in Holland is the BCC's and SCC's, but here it they exceed it at every level. Probably the high incidence is because of the burning sun and less protection to it ...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia christiannevn... things are the same (a little backwards, but the same). There is a Starbucks and a McDonald's on the corner and most of the restaurant serve food similar to America. To flush the toilets however, you do pull on a string above the toilet instead of the handles we are so used too. Also, everyone eats really fast. A dinner only takes about twenty minute and then you pay and get out. This town is also somewhat touristy and expensive ...
Glenelg, Australia hbomb1... here to lift the spirits up a bit, playing pool and chess. Good fun. Tomorrow it's a 3 days tour to Kangaroo island, which can be a disaster if it rains and for later I am planning to rent a car to drive the famous Great Ocean Road. Money is not an issue for this kind of experience, do I'll go for a super powerful Hundai Getz with the monster engine of 1.3 liters, manual transmission, air conditioning, CD player and power steering.
Glenelg, Australia stathisContinued from ; Leaving Adelaide, first attempt My dorm room companions were a mixture of Argentineans, Frenchmen and South Africans - plus one obnoxious Aussie. They have all left to go their separate ways. So that the room now contains a Bulgarian, Denis. He is an interesting case. Fresh off the plane from his native eastern Europe, it's plain to see that he is like a fish out of water. He tries in vain to sleep, to ...
Glenelg, South Australia, Australia gerry_goosehart... town of Glen Elg. The hostel there is a huge restored Victorian mansion, about the size of four houses. 25 bucks per night is what they charge and there's no car park. But there's no alternative either. This is Glen Elg's one and only backpacker hostel. I take a room for the time being and note that there is draft Stella on tap in the bar and TV lounge. A large socialising area out the back with a weekly barbie and live music. A very good ...
