Made it thru the park and turned right at Barry's Bay to find Sunnyhill Park and drove to the end of the world but it was worth it. What a gorgeous park....right on Bark Lake. very friendly people there.
... a bakery in Bancroft for some sweet treats; Pecan Butter Tarts, and also the Kawartha Dairy & Ice Creamery for a delicious ice cream. We arrived at Sylvia and Rob's cottage mid afternoon. The drive up the road to their cottage was covered in snow, as well as all through the surrounding forest. Just beautiful. Our friends Matt and Claire bought a new cottage this year overlooking Lake Wallaston and had a bunch of us up to celebrate. Our last hurrah before Matt and Claire become parents, so we definitely made it memorable. Solid long weekend, with good company and good food throughout. More ...
... a cosy first night. The rest of the weekend consisted of raking up pine needles, long walks in the woods, fires by the lake and lots and lots of delicious food. On arrival back in Ottawa on Monday the weather was, again, beautiful and I set about raking up lots of leaves from the back yard - now up to 16 bags since the start of 'fall'!
