Historical Traveler Reviews Quality Inn & Suites Sunnyvale/Silicon Valley
We stayed at this hotel for a week in November.
Employees were kind and housekeeping service was fine.
Hot breakfast was served for free and its menu was partly changed everyday.
Location is very convenient -
There were several restaurants and 24-hour stores within 1 mile from the hotel.
Although this hotel was located very close to highway 101, it was quiet enough to sleep at night.
We will choose this hotel for the next trip to San Jose.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, decent, VERY affordable hotel! My family & I stayed here for a week - 3 rooms for a total of 8 people. Paid $55/night per room. The hotel is a older Best Western but well kept up. Not fancy but not shabby or worn. The breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, make it yourself waffles, breads for toasting, cold cereal, juices, coffees every morning. Plus biscuits & gravy or sausage, or hash. Computer with Internet & VCR movies available free in lobby. FREE washer & dryer! 15 minutes from San Jose airport. Only down side - being close to the highway does means highway noise. Only one of our party is a light sleeper, the rest of us didn't notice the sound. It was too cold for us to try the outside pool, but we could tell it was heated.
Good Value Combo
I've stayed with this hotel fro the 7th week now. I like the total value I get. I check in on Monday nights and check out Friday mornings. I work a lot in the office and travel alone. If you're like me, then this is not a bad place to stay.
What I like about it is that it has good beds. I have stayed in 7 different rooms and every one has good bed. Room size is enough for meand free high speed Internet is really high speed. Nowadays every hotel should have high speed Internet. Dial-up? Come on. That's last decade's stuff. Frig is Tatung brand and very quiet. I hate to wake up because of some in-room appliance noice so that's also important to me.
Complimentary breakfast offers good variety. In addition to the regular continental breakfast menu, they have waffles, scramlbed eff, and patato/ground beef - all hot. They offer 4 different fruit juices - lemonade, guava/passion fruit, apple, and orange. Most hotels offer just the last 2. I'm not a coffee drinker so can't comment on their coffee.
Of course it has it's "down" side. It's no Hilton so don't expect the looks here. But with a good rate, clean room, and things I already mentioned, I feel it provides a good value package overall. And the Gold Club points as well.
This is extremely a perfect hotel. Great price for the room and breakfast. we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Will come back again
Great Trip - Loved Best Western
Great Hotel. Close to SJC. Clean rooms with iron, coffemaker, microwave wireless internet, and cable TV! Great rates through Expedia.
Great hotel for the price paid. great room, great breakfast. Very impressed
Will visit again!
Cheap price, but there's a reason
We booked one night at this hotel, as it was close to SJC, the price was reasonable, and also because the reviews on trip advisor were positive.
Our experience was anything but positive. Although we had the chance to check in fairly early when I'm sure there were lots of rooms to pick from, they gave us what I'm sure they knew was the worst room in the place (ice machine outside, busy/noisy back entrance door to one side). The room was pretty small, the bathroom sink had been leaking for some time, and the carpet underneath was soaked and smelly. There was some sort of structural problem on the ceiling in one corner of the shower stall where the wallboard had all but disintegrated - when one showered, the steam rose to that point, gathered and then dripped down dirty water on the person showering. The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke, even though the entire wing we were on was a non-smoking wing. The grounds looked a little seedy, and by far the worst was the garbage truck that showed up at 7:30 a.m. right outside of our window - the garbage handler being really fond of loud rock music, but not the most adept at his job, as after he left, there was garbage stewn everywhere.
So, in an attempt to be fair, we didn't pay a lot for the room (and when we explained at check out that there were problems with the room, we were given $10.00 off the total price). Had we not been busy dashing around, and exhausted when we finally were able to settle in for the night, we would have called the desk and made an attempt to change rooms. My issue is this ... I cannot believe they weren't aware of the leak, the smell, the shower problem ... I cannot believe they don't get that this is not a room that puts their best foot forward ... I cannot believe that they aren't aware of the garbage pick up schedule. Had we showed up with no reservations at midnight on a busy weekend and this was all they had, and they explained what the difficulties might be, I'd say it would have been a fair experience. However, we had reservations, we arrived well within their normal check-in period, and we still encounted this problem. I'll never go there again, and I'm beginning to change my opinion about all Best Westerns - they aren't what they used to be.
Sadly, in driving around a little, we saw many more hotels that were just a few blocks away that looked better - I wish we'd know that going in.
Definitely worth it!
My boyfriend and I always stay at this hotel whenever we're in the Bay Area. At first, I was a little skeptical when I looked at the picture of the front entrance online. However, when we got there, I was surprised to see how well-kept this place was. Obviously, it's not the Marriott, but the room was clean and had the basic amenities. Our room was spacious; the bed was comfortable, and we even had a fridge and microwave. The hotel could definitely use some softer/more thread-count towels. Otherwise, everything exceeded my expectations. I'd recommend this hotel if you're looking for a reasonably priced yet clean place to stay with basic amenities. We also like the fact that the hotel was away from the main freeways which meant that it was hotel, yet convenient if we needed to use the freeways. The hotel even offers a free breakfast but we never woke up early enough for that.
Worth it for the money
I paid $55 for king size bed. The room was too good.Free breakfast was great.I do not know how they can give such a excellant complimentary breakfast.employees were friendly and were really helpful.
Location! Location! Location!
This hotel is awesomely situated! It is at the junction of Mathilda-237-101. Very close to 85, 280, 880, 680. You can get anywhere in 15-20 minutes! Awesome service! Free Breakfast: the cereals were kind of old and the selections were limited. The rooms are small, but come with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron + board & hair dryer. Also has a tiny fitness center and a business center. There is free high speed wireless internet access. All in all .. a great deal for the price!

For this the children need to have proof that they have both had children pox, a TB test and 3 proofs of address. In order to get the TB test done we have to sign up for our private health insurance. This in itself is so overwhelming, the information on all the different plans is confusing, also there are different rates you can pay, each giving you ...
We went around to Chris & Aya's early today - that is at 8.40am, so that she could go to an appointment at the transport office, to get a handicapped sign for the car. We looked after Sakura and Aya was only gone for a very short time - like about 30 minutes, maybe ! She took Alyssa with her, too. Then Aya offered to take us for a day out to the Redwood Forest, so off we went. It as really nice, and we saw a replica old timber town, with ...

Just flew over the Effel Tower, coming in to Charles de Guille airport. Wow, so happy to actually see the Effel Tower even if only out the window! One more short flight to Barcelona.
Finding the terminal to connect to Barcelona was an interesting experience. Fortunately we hooked up with a couple like us, a little confused, from Pleasanton, ca, they were on the flight from SFO with us. Between the 4 of us we got to Terminal 2F which was a tram ride and long walk ...
... a different quarterly report than we are used to. Normally I would have to report that earnings have dropped 100% and normally that would be bad, but that 100% drop in earnings has given us the time we needed to start this new way of life. Already we are planning what we will do next year and the how and the when, but on balance we are liking the life, missing the people from work, but not necessarily the work itself.
