No.14-16 Praca Ponte E Horta Macau Peninsula, Macau, China, 99999
Decided to get out of dodge for the weekend and jumped the ferry to Macau. It is about an hour ride on the jet foil and I decided to buy the first class ticket instead of economy. It was only a few dollars difference when I worked it out (well like $10) but I have found that it is worth it when traveling alone. You get a little bit extra help that makes it alot easier and less stressful when you are going it alone the first time (I will be taking economy back). The day started off gloomy in H...
Macau, China bnbfsuAlison: We arrived in Macau following an overnight train to Shenzhen on the south coast of China, an unnecessarily long bus journey from the train station to the ferry port, and a ferry ride to the Macau terminal. We were not in the best of moods after this mammoth 19 hour journey and Nigel escaped with only one black eye! We successfully navigated to the hotel and were surprised when we were asked whether we wanted a luxury room since we both looked like a couple of tramps. Unfortunately the...

only had a couple of days in Macau and I had a small bout of swine flu, although it could not have been too bad as I managed to pass through all the body temperature scans without any problems. It also rained a lot as a big typhoon was heading to shore - you might have seen it on the news as it ended up devastating Taiwan and the south of China. So with my swine flu and ...

Macau Peninsula, Macau, China nax... kicks in and slows you down too. When Sam and Dennis came back up after doing their jump I thought "sod my blood pressure/asthma/heart condition, I'm going to do this" so I signed all the consent forms saying I'm a healthy-happy chappy and into the harness I stepped (no Donna, it wasn't as "hilarious" as Go Ape that time!!) and up I stepped. Good God it was incredible. The view alone was something - was so high up you could see all of Macau peninsula and the two ...
Macau, China gamandsiles... we got off the plane, the weather was rainy and gloomy, and we all worried that it would stay the same for the next few days. However, we have been having fantastic weather so far, and we are hopeful that the sun will shine for the next 3 days as well. The hotel is a brand new one, very clean, and in a very good location (close to West Street where we usually have breakfast and/or dinner and we go shopping). The children are remarkably well behaved, mature, and responsible. We ...
Macau, China tis2008... to a temple and Martitime Museum before taking a bus back to the ferry terminal. I didn't have enough time to see all the things I wanted to see but I got a good idea as to what Macau was all about. It would be good to come here for a couple of days and experience the casinos and hotels. Slept and alittle on the ferry going back to Hong Kong and ate at a Taiwanese restaurant near to the hostel.
Macau Peninsula, China glyn... much different than the last two trips over to the south side of the island that I've taken. We headed through Stanley Market before I realized that it was on the other side of the street but hey, a stop of McDonald's for breakfast was in order so all worked out. If I remember right, it was already a balmy 31C outside so everyone was cooking quite nicely. After our brief breakfast, we headed back through the market ...
Stanley, Hong Kong gildo... painting. Previously the misty or empty spaces and great towering mountains were something of a mystery to me, and while I found the imagery interesting it did not convey a feeling of depth in the same way that Western perspectivalism did. That preconception os swept away by Lantau, where the vistas match the artistry of landscapes so well you gain a whole new appreciation for the complexity of Chinese landscapes, as the mists ...
Kowloon, Hong Kong sahs... was my duty as a student and traveler to have my passport with me. I kept apologizing and knew that the laundry woman was going to come back at any second and straighten everything out. She came running back and said, rather definitively, "It's not there." "But that's impossible," I said a little franticly. "It's definitely there." Rita had had enough. "We're coming with you to your room. We're going to have to go through all your things." I knew I had no choice, and by now I was ...
