The first neat thing we encountered was a rest area on Route 80. They had commissioned an architect to celebrate Iowa’s literacy. Throughout the area they had representative kid’s blocks with letters (2 foot cubes of concrete) they had what appeared to be book spines formed into the plaster borders of the building. There was a plaque explaining the representation.

We kept a rough list of all the Wildlife we saw on our journey, using tally marks to try to give a numerical idea. The Denali list is separate as is the list from our Kenai Fjords Cruise. No idea why, it just is!

We left Lohrville at 6:15 am. Realized our camper was trying to blow apart in Grand Forks. Repaired with Gorilla tape. Picked up rivet gun and flashing for more permanent repair in Lakota. ...Fort Dodge, that is. Yesterday we drove and drove and drove. Lots of green rolling hills that turned into flat cornfields...we did spend a good bit of the day in Iowa!
