... night, bbqs and music pumped up full volume. Two days of revelry and celebration, shops shut, everyone in the streets. It was the culmination of months of planning, weeks of anticipation, and loud nights of calypso, soca and reggae. We made our way to the Carenage and were face to face with the jab-jab dancers, coated with old engine oil and coal. They glistened more darkly in the light of their smoking torches; many wore devil’s helmets adorned with cows’ ...

... This place was terrible in the mornings. They won't make most of their menu and they don't toast their bagels. There is an identical one at the SGU campus, and that one is much better, so skip the close one and go to the one on campus.

Here I'm greeted by an interesting contrast. On one side of the narrow street is a artificial looking shopping area that leads to the cruise ship loading dock. It seems like Grenada pretty much just has two types of ...

We are anchored in Secret Harbor on the south side of the island. We are neighbors to about 50 other boats and there are around 250 more in the two bays tangent to us. We wake up everyday listening to the cruisers net which provide us with weather, social activities, treasures of the bilge, parts and services, general inquiries and local business announcements. There is something going on for both kids and ...

We sail into Saint George's and marvel at yet another interesting scene. The Fort George and the hospital dominate the harbour entrance, following around and down the bay by beautiful fish scale tiled rooves on houses and bright coloured shrubs. We motor and buzz The Carenage, then the lagoon in which sits Fort Louis Marina and the Grenada Yacht Club. We then anchor outside in the bay and watch the anchoring antics, or lunantics, of others. It never fails to ...
