Yesterday we had booked a tour to Verona, but because Al was heavy with cold we refund, c'est la vie. Today we did go to public transport. Al was feeling better in the morning, but got worse as the day rolled on. It seems Verona's claim to fame is the Romeo, Juliet story. So we visited Juliet's balcony, along with hoards of other tourists. There is a statue of Juliet where folks get their picture taken. Now it seems that ...

... cars and motorcycles to leave the upper car deck for more than 1 hour. So eventually I was able to make my way out of the ferry and into the crazy traffic of Ancona.

It was around 17.00 and I needed to drive 340 km to my hotel in Padua, which now meant that I had no chances for sightseeing, and would have to take the Autostrada all the way to Padua (speed limit 130 km/hr). The drive was smooth without heavy ...

Today we started our journey north, destination Venice with a stop in Verona. Again it was another early start (7:30am departure). I found it novel but it appears to be common, having seen ...

... love their grappa. Even have grapperias - bars that specialize in grappa. Beautiful views of the mountains. Very proud of the "Alpinis" - mountain men. There are several grappa museums. We liked the Poli one. Best was a 4 year old aged in oak made from blend of cab sab and merlot. Cool to see the history of the Poli family. Had more gelato today cause it was stinkin hot. I leaked constantly. More cold beer. Tomorrow, to Venice for 3 ...

Today we start our guided tour leaving Mantova with all the team and our leader Marco. We left the boat at 9.30am and headed back round the Lago di mezzo and on the way passed a fisherman who had just caught a 7kg carp. We then headed past Lago Superiore. From here we rode through Grazie and stopped at the Catholic Church for a look. From here we rode through Rivalta sul Mincio where we stop again for a spell. The day is heating up rapidly and ...
