While I tend to view Colorado Springs as being at the base of Pike's Peak, the reality is that the small resort town of Manitou Springs is much more truly at the base of Pike’s Peak. ... as a child so I wanted him to be able to go back and see it again. I just regret not doing it at the beginning of the trip. But at least it will not be such a big shock to my system going from the amazing mountains right back to Orlando and its heat. The mountains have been so cool but Colorado Springs is more of a city and not in the mountains so much hotter. I look at it as a transition back to civilization. I am not sure that the hotel ...

... up the longest 4 miles and busy traffic.... Got in around 4:30 and I ws so glad to see him and Lou.....We went to the back yard and had water and rested while Lou fixed us Spaghetti just want we always want after a 55 mile day....Katy went ot stay with a friend that also lives there only 2 1/2 miles from my brother.
