Have lost track of days. From the Sequoias we went to San Fran..then over the Golden Gate bridge to the coast. The Sonoma coast of northern California is undescribably beautiful. Photos will have to wait till we get home..not sure even photos can convey the wonder of that shoreline. Deep almost constant fog added to the dreaminess.... We camped in dunes on the Sonoma coast, then drove on into Oregon and the Gold Shore- where the Rogue River ...
... smell nice. A tip for The Mercans. A cheap bottle of after shave and a cockney accent. Try it.
After a few beers that I didn't have to pay for iI was invited back to the car park in front of their motel room for a BBQ and Margaritas.
Fortunately the BBQ failed to light so there was no dinner and an early night fouled their plans I think.
Having returned to bed early I heard two single cylinder bikes ride by my window at about 11pm.
... of big legs to leave Nevada and the light switch change into Oregon.
I think the long straights are over as this state is beautiful in a more conventional way than the raw beauty of the hot states.
An amazing transformation. Riding through the end of the Great Basin and in to south east Oregon.
The end of the day has been a highlight.

Leaving Lake Owyhee, our goal was to reach either Crater Lake or Klamath Falls. Unfortunately, this was a totally unrealistic hope, at least given the route I chose to take (note to self, need better maps!).
