    Bit better sleep and down early for brekkie after 0630. Kevin came along, the two of us finishing before any others appeared.

    Went for a walkabout in Klaipeda to get some pictures. The main drag itself is not particularly appealing but the side streets were better. Had a look at the schooner and then meandered down side streets on both …

    ... and must be very cold and basic. We can't work out what the people exist on- they don't appear to be growing veg in their gardens and we've seen no cattle. Still they have lovely new trains, with 2 decks, even if some of the stations don't have roads to them ?! The capital has stunning architectural buildings and was well worth popping out to.  Back to Kaunas now, a few hours sleep and an early start tomorrow...to Riga, ...

    ... the river back to the hostel, where I had a treat in store for myself! Cheap pork chops picked up from the supermarket, living the dream!

    He winds his way through sketchy looking neighborhoods and eventually pulls into a back alley where you swear the building will fall down on you and all I can think is if I ever find myself making a horror movie where you have been kidnapped and are being driven to some abandoned place to be tortured by a psychopath, I will be filming this here.

    ... street, called Galeria Urbana. We shared an excellent bruschetta for a starter and then Cat had a frittata while Ally opted for stuffed chicken (not very Lithuanian but very tasty!). Having received tiny napkins at every meal and joked about how we were meant to wear them, we suddenly realised that they are in fact only there to decorate the basket carrying the cutlery and not to be draped across our laps... Cat hastily returned hers before the waitress came ...
