... across the bridge (with my eyes closed and praying for safety!!!). Anne wanted me to stop in the middle of the bridge and take a photo! You've got to be kidding - I wasn't stopping for anyone!!!!!! We had a great time there.
Yesterday (Sunday) we travelled from Vancouver down to San Francisco. We were met here by our DFK friend, Linda Kachui ...
... out the local artist's work on display in the grounds nearby. Bobby is a big fan of the botanical gardens so we ambled through there a little (didn't make it to the NZ section, though apparently there is one) before heading to Hippy Hill. Hippy hill is just as it sounds. It's a Hill. and there's Hippies. Lots of 'em. Dancing. Playing Drums. Smoking Drugs. Selling Drugs. Dancing in circles. It's all there. Such excitement breeds great hunger so we pressed on ...
San Francisco, California, United States akeakekiakahaBeste jongens en meisjes, Daar zijn we dan weer. Inmiddels verblijven wij in "The Bay" ofwel de Greater San Francisco Area.

San Mateo, California, United States bubbajamchin... the lobby of the hotel and use it. She informed me no, that is what people pay extra for!!! We eventually got in, but soon found that the room we were given had not been made up properly by housekeeping, so back we had to go up a very steep hill to the main hotel. At least the lady was a little more apologetic this time around.... The room was quite nice for what we paid in the end. But still not ...
San Francisco, California, United States vhenschke... really great! There was awesome in flight entertainment because they have all these free movies, t.v. shows and t.v. channels. We got to Las Vegas and there were even pokies in the Airport... so weird! There were also these weird animal sculpture things there as well. We got some cool photos. We caught the shuttle to our next hotel. It was called ...
San Francisco, California, United States kbcon2This trip was the most surreal - me as a research assistant on a NASA/ SETI flight 50,000 feet up and across the Arctic circle and back to study the Quadrantid meteor shower. More info here: http://quadrantid.seti.org/ But before the flight, I spent a few days in San Francisco - probably my favorite U.S. city. Its a mix of everything I love: seashore, seafood (and fresh, too), good climate, and culture. I would have loved to have grown up here (but Boston is great too, don't get me wrong).
San Francisco, California, United States gypsytravels... br>size of the park which is about 3.3miles wide.
It all went a little pear shaped from here. We took a bus to The Castro
District and i gave the bus driver way too much money for the fare, he
didn't have change. There is a huge gay and lesbian community here, we
saw mainly bois and bears. The area has become a symbol of gay and
lesbian pride throughout the world. It was not as large as Sydney's
Oxford Street but did boast a massive ...
... out!) Our last stop for the rest of the trip was Seminyak, another town in Bali. This was the "luxuary" honeymoon stop of the trip. We had our very own living room, kitchen, bedroom, changing area, bathroom, and the coolest part....an 8 x 3 m private pool!! How fun!! And Eric had other activies planned...such as going to dinner at La Lucciola & dinner at Ku De Ta. To my surprise, the villa provided: heart-shaped ...
San Mateo, California, United States bubbajamchin... to show you what my post-LA life looks like. It's a pretty damn good life, really. My new place is FAR brighter and homier than that cave I rented in LA for a decade, that's for sure. Yet... I'm about to leave it so that I can travel to foreign lands & live out of a carry-on suitcase for seven weeks. A long trip like this is bound to have very high and low points... I know that there will be moments on the road where I'll look at that photo of ...
