Greetings, still from San Antonio;
Yesterday was a quiet day. Our only real activity was to go visit The Alamo. Walking inside the museum was very reminiscent of many of the Churches we have visited in Italy. There is a sense of quiet and reverence about what happened there. It was a moving experience. Pictures are not allowed in the museum but I did snap one of the outside.
... and they say Florida is hot!
Before I forget, let me tell you about our last dinner in New Orleans. We ate at John Besh's place Domenica, which is Italian for Sunday. It was a really authentic Italian trattoria, very informal and family friendly. The most memorable dishes we had were a pizza that we shared, with tomato and spicy salumi and an antipasto plate with meats and cheese. The pizza could have been made in Italy and brought to New ...
... and headed back to the room to reapply sunscreen and rehydrate. Back to the Wave pool where the Kelly's met up with us. After awhile there, we duplicated our morning with a trip down the Falls and a long while in the Alligator area. The big girls and I were up and in suits by 7:20. Breakfast in our room and then we piled into the Kelly's car to go tot the main resort office to get our daily waterpark wristbands. Strolled down to the Alamo and spent a couple of hours wandering around and learning the history of the brave men who fought for Texas' independence. We had expected the Alamo to be surrounded by a little bit of country and were surprised to find that it is right in the middle of town. When looking out from the Alamo you see skyscraper hotels all around.
