Drive to Roswell

3.5 hr drive to Roswell.

There is not much to see along the way, mainly flat land with some farming. Not even a garage that we remember seeing on the 285.

How do you like our mobile office - home away from home!

Roswell is a quiet, pretty little town, that goes mad once a year with the 4th of July weekend, UFO festival. Had a drive around & it is full of UFO adorned paraphernalia, shops, streets & buildings.

We went over to the Alien Museum & met Malc...

Alien parade

Big parade in town tonight. People line up on either side of the street to watch the parade go by. Quite an unusual mix of alien content & Disney characters! Enough said....

On the way north

I am not the biggest fan of desert areas. The drive to Roswell and north from there was desert. It was interesting going to the Roswell alien museum. There are also some of the most beautiful sunsets in the desert, not much in the way of the view.

"A good place for spotting wildlife" the trail guide explains, so again you are hoping and dreading encountering something large and ferocious. But again, there is no sign of anything scary, just a few patches of flattened grass where something big - perhaps a dear ...

Ian is still convinced that we saw our UFO the day before. We pulled onto Main Street and right away we noticed that the street lights looked like UFO heads. Very funny. We stood there taking pictures for a bit. We then headed to the UFO museum. It was mesmerizing. There are so many accounts of sightings and cover ...

Amazing Arizona

... pampered week at a beautiful resort (thanks Vaughans) and did some "coyote howling" at 2 NHL hockey games. Great fun!! Travelling south to Tucson we did some really interesting desert hiking in the National Park and Sabina Canyon. With J&J we headed down to experience the "Old West". Tombstone was so much fun - gunfights at the OK Corral, Big Nose Kate's Saloon (had a few cold ones!), stagecoachs travelling down the main street -totally restored to look like "the town too tough to die ...
