... 6500 feet. This is home to the Smokey Bear National Park (I assume where Smokey got his start). The only Smokey we saw had multiple bullet holes for his contribution to "Stop Forest Fires". Our docent at the Space Hall of Fame had advised us to see the Three Rivers Petroglyph Park, so we took a long detour to see that. Hiked trail to Smith's Spring. 285N thru Carlsbad NM then 82W to Cloudcroft.
