A Long Man and Leeds Castle

Harvester continental breakfast and making the decision where to go next. Ian picked Leeds castle via the Wilmington Long Man and Battle (near Hasting). It only took about 330 minutes to get to Wilmington and it was quite warm in the car. But once we got out of the car the wind was freezing even if it was mostly blue sky. The best view of the Long Man is probably from the car park where we started however we decided to walk and have a closer look. The Long Man depicts a hunter with ...

Not bad, lots of clever stuff like windows that make you think the day is passing and screens on the back of the seat in front to play with. What fun. It needs a footrest to make the seat comfortable and the snack bar needs to be better organised. That didn't affect us as we ...

... cancelled. Organising cat homes- which didn't go too well as one cat found it's way home the first day my mum let it out. Defrosting freezers. Selling Spencer's car- it was decided we didn't need 2 anymore, now that I wasn't at Uni. Selling my beloved bugaboo pushchair- there was no way we were taking it with me, and Ru will be 18 months when we return. How much longer would he need it? We stopped using a buggy with Millie when she was 2. Buying a cheap stroller. Forcing Ru ...

      ... slip!)

After that we headed off home. Along the way I saw a sign showing where the Battle of Britain Memorial was, so we detoured and I had a look around it. Jean stayed in the warmth of the car. It is one of those very moving places like the Navy Memorial in Plymouth or the Lockerbie Memorial we visited last time. There are about 2400 names on the Wall. They were mostly young ...
