      Really cute hotel

Possibly the smallest hotel room I've stayed in along my Route 66 journey, but by far my favourite. Decorated with Route 66 facts and novelty memorabilia. The quaint buildings make me feel like I'm back in the 1960s, and the Cadillac outside is the icing on the cake.

The Best Western Springfield served up a basic breakfast. Mark tucked into his sausage patties and scrambled eggs, I decided to stick to the toast!!

... and I honestly get frustrated at my own abilities to endure such obstacles. That is usually the moment when I have reluctantly learned to hope for help and then simply ask for it. Somehow... somehow... it always seems to present itself in one form or another. For that, I am truly grateful because as hard as I try, I could not do this alone.

It's quite aggressive and it's funny to think that it works!! We found another Route 66 Visitors Centre and got chatting to the lady on duty. Madeline. She was 66 (looked 50) and was sooooo sweet. She gave us some maps (priceless) and helped us on our way. She said if we as a ...

We took some photos and then it was back on the road and onto the Meremac Caverns, which are a huge cave network deep underground that apparently Jesse James the outlaw used as shelter because they were so big he could run all his men and horses ...
