... Later last night we enjoyed our dinner outside. No bug no gasping for air conditioning. It was awesome. ... contrast was a war protest set up on a large area of beach with crosses representing each American serviceman/woman lost in the current conflict, with a sign saying 9 dead this week. Off the pier the houses and hotels are much nicer than at Venice Beach. The facilities were good, lots of people exercising on provided equipment. We went past a chess park where people were playing, earlier there was people playing ...
... most people seemed to get away with just a few splashes! There wasn't a bit of me that wasn't soaking wet - my shoes were even squelching as we walked around afterwards! Luckily it didn't take too long to dry off and I was distracted by watching the parade! After the parade we went off to catch our shuttle bus back to the hotel exhausted from another day of reliving our childhood!!

... the Griffith Observatory. At the Observatory we got the most magnificent view of Los Angeles at night, which is what we spent most of our time looking at. Inside the observatory there was loads of information on 'space' but we only looked briefly at the pendulum which was a skins of clock that proves the earth spins on its own axis. Pretty cool. Then we were back to our hotel after a long and busy day in LA, time for a glass of wine for me and some beers for Steve while we wound down before ...
... We awoke this morning to warm sunshine and peace and quiet. A nice start to the day, especially when the rest of the day was going to be in HOLLYWOOD!!! Which was rubbish actually... It really was. The best way to explain it is... the bit that everyone sees on TV, with the star studded walkway, is just one street. One very long street.
