Meghan and I were able to shoot the 300 Mag. in this afternoon. We were not able to find and Elk life size target for practice, but had to settle for this Whitetail Deer. She shot this target and scored in the Harvest Zone from 100, 200, 250 & 300 Yards.
All we need now is the Elk to walk out in front of her once we are hunting.

I hope my Iphone works while we are hunting the Routt National Forest.
Up to date hunting and trip photos would be nice for everyone to enjoy. I will keep everyone posted.

Harlingen, Texas, United States tg3936Hello All. We have really enjoyed our stay in Brownsville, TX to visit Jerry's parents. We don't see them often and it is always bittersweet when the visit nears an end.

We went out for a casual dinner with the parents and Jerry's brother, Juan, and wife Vivian. Then it was back to the hotel to begin packing up our belongings.
Brownsville, Texas, United States hollyesparzaIt is always a must to spend some time on South Padre Island. SPI is located about 20 minutes from Brownsville. Alex now knows about the "beach". He did not want to leave.

This was the girls first visit to the beach. They thought it was okay, but would have ...
South Padre Island, Texas, United States hollyesparza... Padre Island to have dinner at Amberjack's. I had a fabulous surf 'n' turf dinner with filet mignon and Alaskan King Crab legs...yummmm!!

Dinner took a long time to arrive at our table, so of course dessert was on management. Don't worry...I did not partake of the sinful decadence.
Brownsville, Texas, United States hollyesparzaThe day has finally arrived. Mille and I are not sure how to feel knowing what we are getting ourselves into in the natural, but the conclusion I've come to is this:
I'd rather be in the will of God.
I'm not sure if this is even really happening, and we don't even have "specific" direction! Just GO. The plane to Brownsville was a tiny ...
Brownsville, Texas, United States robandmillie... red, white top, Plexiglas front and have water noodles strapped in the back. This park covers 160 acres so getting to the pool or going for mail is a fair jaunt for the folks with hip replacements or bad knees when commuting to dances, socials or happy hours with new friends - over there! And drinking while driving a golf cart is NOT frowned upon. · Golf Courses - They're all ½ dry and hard as cement. · Irrigation Cisterns - Large irrigation canals criss-cross the ...
Brownsville, Texas, United States jimcabay... re Bouviers' seems to be a phrase we have to say about ten times a day, and 'thank you, we think they're beautiful too'. Eugénie has lots of insect bites (again, as she already seems to attract the sand flies) on her legs which kept her awake in the night. It looks like it'll have to be extra-strength DEET from now on. Our memory of Texas, as you will see on the pictures, besides the nice people we met, were the huge silos that look like huge tin cans.
Brownsville, Texas, United States bohemianeug... old home he was always on the back of couch and watched the activities on our street. Had a 50's dinner and dance last night and the music was provided by a guy from Norfolk, Nebraska playing his keyboard and accompanied by his computer with recorded songs. Played mostly 50's and took some requests as well. All in all it was pretty good, had some hamburgers, French fries, and libations, did a little dancing, and talked ...
Brownsville, Texas, United States meekrvtravel... 19 net, so things like this carry weight when you’re on a budget. Greyhound’s not especially costly, but long and slow. This is the age of hitch-hiking, too, back when you’d 'go hitch-hiking’ just for fun, but a cheap flight once in a while is a luxury.
