... roll when I got to Carlyle which was about 40 miles into my day. I maintained about a 25 mph speed all day which piles on miles fast. Greenup Illinois is a small community in rural Illinois. It is home of Abe Bowman, Pitcher for the Cleveland Indians in 1914-1915 with a record of 2-8 and 4.74 era. It is also the home of Cy Warman, author from the late 19th century who became famous after writing about his train trip from NYC to Chicago in 1892 and then went on to write a series of railroading stories as well as popular songs.
