... floods and devastation. A lot has happened while we've been away but we have been proud of the way our state has rebounded and are moving forward.

We're excited to be getting home tomorrow. We’ve been very fortunate through all our travels and have enjoyed sharing our adventures with our friends and family. We’re glad I wrote the blog because it’s already hard to remember some of the names of places we’ve been!

... YEEUCH! The rain was so bad at times I couldn't see a thing and found myself peering around my screen looking for the white line on the side of the road just to see where we were headed. It was not a comfortable ride at all. As Jude said, we used our imagination on what it would have looked like, especially in the fall. This is a ride I would live to come back and do. From here, it’s a steep climb down to river level. It starts off moderate, but gets steeper and steeper. Ropes tied to trees help with the steepest parts near the end. Once down to the river, we had to go upstream a bit to the base of Big Falls. A downed tree made getting to ...

... drove to Asheville, North Carolina (40 minutes from Marion) then
onto Yogi in the Smokies near Cherokee NC. The GPS sent us up into
the mountains then onto a very small road. We stopped before we had
driven up it properly and thought since it looked barely big enough
for a car, it may not be ok to go up it with an RV. Good choice!
Backing back we found an alternative route and arrived in one piece
and with little stress which I imagine it ...

... I took a wrong turn and we never did find it. We are both really enjoying staying here with Bob, Jude and all their friends and there are just so many good roads to ride and places to see. Also Bob has arranged a trail ride on Thursday that we are keen to join in on.
