    Sweet Home Alabama!

It's been a long day (I've been up for 24 hours!) but we are home safe and sound. The trip was absolutely amazing in every way and I'm so thankful for the opportunity, but now I'm ready to sleep for about three days. Thanks for following the blog; good night and God ...

4:30am comes awfully early, but we're excited to be underway! Even the kids are excited, and with teenagers, that never happens! It was pretty strange leaving the house this morning, knowing that we wouldn't be back for almost a month. ... 24 hours. From Hughie letting dad take over his workshop to fix the car, the super friendly cab driver who booked me a haircut on the way to the salon and the parts suppliers who have hand delivered products or driven to another store to pick it up and bring it back to us. We have certainly been experiencing the Southern Hospitality the area is famous for. It's now time to get some rest before continuing on to Memphis, ...

Lake Horn, Mississippi to Athens, Alabama

Slept until after 7:00, got up had coffee, showered, secured everything and were on the road at 9:21. Traveling US-72 to US-31, 173 miles. A pretty day in Lake Horn but getting cloudy as we traveled. 59 degrees and breezy when we left. Jerry chatted with the next door neighbor while I finished getting dressed. He and his wife are ...
