Decatur, AL is not the kind of place you want to get out and explore... even less so is where our hotel was in the nearby town of Athens, AL. We pulled in on Saturday night, about 8pm, and quickly realized that we weren't in Kansas anymore... or rather, New Orleans. Most of the local restaurants were already closed, or about to close, and were closed on Sundays... yeehaw. Out of campground at 5:50 am. Gas close by was a nice price -- $2.27.9. One of the best prices of the whole trip!

Detoured through Land Between the Lakes (Kentucky and Tennessee). There is a nice Nature Center ($4 per adult), an elk and bison habitat to drive through ($5 per vehicle), and an 1880's homestead area ($4 per adult). I FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN THIS TRIP TO THE ECHOTA CHEROKEE INDIAN POWWOW. WOW WOULD DESCRIBE THIS TRIP ... BUT THE WORD WONDEROUS DESCRIBES THIS TRIP EVEN BETTER! TODAY WE TOOK LITTLE BIT OF A WHOLE LOT TO GET PIZZA AT CHUCKEY CHEESE. THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME TO TAKE A GRAND-CHILD TO EAT PIZZA HERE. NO WE DID NOT RIDE THE RIDES BUT WE SURE HAD A LOT OF FUN WATCHING HER RIDE AND WATCH THE OTHER CHILDREN. I AM NOT SURE HOW SHE LIKED CHUCKEY CHEESE AND HIS GANG SINGING BUT THE REST INSIDE THIS PIZZA PLACE SHE DID LIKE. I AM SURE WE WILL BE GOING BACK1
