      Today we had to return our little piece of freedom that had served us so well- our hire car. We'd managed to clock up just over 5500 miles in the 4 weeks, which ain't bad going. We then took the metro back into downtown Portland and spent the day exploring.

      ... times. As we head back, we keep in contact via our phones again, and arrange to stop in at the Multnomah Falls, as we figure there will not be as many people there anymore. We are also a bit further away from the actual falls, so it’s easier to find a place to park. Eight years ago we wandered around more and walked up to the bridge between the dual falls, but this time we stay near the base, as it is after 6pm already!

      ... to see her second cousin Marabel and was so proud to show her the colorful doughnuts she had picked out when Marabel chose the plainest doughnut in the bunch and devoured it.       ... One of the launch areas (we think C) even offers rentals of canoes, kayaks, and motor powered watercraft. There is also a snack shop at the same launch but it closes early. There is a disc golf course too but I wouldn't recommend it for younger players or beginners, as there are many obstacles. The course goes through a wooded area where there are plenty of places to lose a disc.
