    Anyway when we started the tour we took a 5 minute drive to the Nautilus Submarine dock which Kris and I walked passed an hour earlier. We were the first ones off the bus, and the first ones in the Submarine giving us the perfect seats. The tour lasted about an hour and it was very interesting and extremely cool to see two ship wrecks.     After a big trek and long drive, it's great to finish the day with a cold beer, and what better place to choose than Oakdale, the 'Cowboy Capital of the World’. This small town harks back to the gold mining days and was foundered in 1871.

  • In addition to all the great things to do on the ship, the crew hosts really fun events. I participated on an "Amazing Race" event, which was essentially a scavenger hunt around the ship, where we could collect goodies and answer questions about the ship. That was a short, but fun way to spend time!

    ... meals. This guy was a supervisor of cooks on the oil rigs offshore, he was more than a cook, he was a chef. Chef Calvin didn't make a single thing I didn't like, and coming from me, that's a huge compliment. He (and the beer) contributed to me not losing any weight on this particular trip.
