... then walked to the post office to get our new phone covers (exciting right!!). It was so lucky to reach the Rockies when the Aspen trees were wearing their golden colour. It does not happen for long so I enjoy my week there with Pickles and for few days with Theo before he flew back to London.
My french friends would say that the Rockies don't have the majesty of the french Alps but I love their softness and the fact that you can reach the summit within few hours but still can climb verticals ...
... and enjoyed so much the fragility and tenacity of these tiny wonders thinking that they spend much of the winters under snow and freezing temperatures to bloom with majesty in the spring and summer. A lesson to learn I assume from mother nature,

Today we went to explore vail. It really is the Mecca of skiing here in Colorado. There are 2 main villages with restaurants, bars, outdoor ice skating rinks and over 150 shops! the ski villages are very quaint and many of the buildings have a European feel to them. We started the day off with a hot chocolate then explored the shops. We then took a ride up one of the ski gondolas. Very posh.....all enclosed ...
