It was a pretty exhausting day today. We only rode 85 miles but the majority of it was on this horibbly gravelly road that just killed our speed. The ride was hard but when we got to Richland and we had an awesome friendship vist with the arc of the tri cities. ... on the map we pulled off the highway and parked up next to what looked a pumpkin field. Turns out we had also parked up next to a model aircraft airstrip and there were people there flying their planes. While we sat and ate our lunch we were treated to our own private air display. The open space also gave Ryan the opportunity to try out his own model helicopter which Katherine had given him for his birthday. The Dish box is scheduled to come today, we'll see... We extended our stay here one day so we leave here Thursday. Meanwhile we are fixing all the things we can with what we have onboard. ... we stopped to take a picture and heard some bird cries overhead. Looking up, we saw a big bird – an osprey? – with a small fish in its talons. But it was just circling around, crying, not taking its food anywhere. Then a bald eagle rose from a tree across the river and flew toward the osprey with the obvious intention of stealing the fish.
