I'm halfway back, can't wait to get in to Australia. Sat next to a Ukrainian guy on the plane on the way over. He was huge and smelt a bit, so I expected the worst leg of the trip ever.

He spoke only a tiny bit of english, but we tried to have a conversation anyway. He works on a ship that catches sharks, and stays on it for 6 months at a time. He gets paid $1200US per month, gah ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. gavin.edgley... from these originals.

During our visit we had been snacking on the classic and Korean theme park fare and hadn't eaten properly. When we finished enjoying Adventure we exited the park to go to a lower level and dine at the Moevenpick Marché we had seen adjacent the ice rink. Linda was familiar with the concept as it exists in her native Singapore but Pacey had to be educated, which wasn't easy with the lack of English text and speach. Nevertheless, we fumbled our way through ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. v1213Ok, so for anyone who doesn't know me I usually am random and do things kinda at the spur of the moment...So one of my Fraternity brothers comes into to town for a few days and calls me up one night and some of the guys are having a few drinks, well of course I'm always down for that. HA. So half way through this little drink session I find out why hes in town, he has to pick up stuff from ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. mhubbard008... He had to go back through customs each time and retrieve the next suitcase from outside the port. It took him nearly 2 hours!!! The exhaustion in his face showed. The ferry was mainly made up of seniors of Korean origin heading to China on tours. They had excellent English, were very friendly, and were so pleased to meet us. We soon discovered the dinner buffet ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. katt.busby... is. And kimchi is good for digestion. For dinner I usually eat bibimbap, which is rice with vegetables and red chili sauce. Or sometimes I'll make wraps with nori sheets (seaweed), tofu and veggies. I have been known to have a bit of a sweet tooth (thanks mom) and this is definitely NOT the place for dessert lovers....most of their desserts are made out of rice. So much for rich chocolatey goodness! The average Korean eats a lot of meat. There ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. truddick... Korean soup! My throat was aching by that point and I was so tired because I had been out the night before (went to the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra). I was ready to go home. I must say, however, that I slept quite well once I actually got in bed. I still don't have a bank account. I am still waiting on my alien registration card to be mailed to me. The immigration has my passport until that card is ready. So, I can't get a bank account or a cell ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. april.abate... ice sculptures. It's amazing what you come across in this city. It's now 4 weeks until I get home and I am really looking forward to getting back to my real world. Sadly I have to do the next few weeks on my own until my replacement arrives for a weeks training but given I've already made it through three months I should be able to do this last part standing on my head. Take care all and I can't wait to catch up with you when I arrive home.
Seoul, Korea Rep. linkspurr... nice (luxurious with heated seats!) to quite dirty and gross. I don't mind the in-the-ground toilets, as long as they are clean, but some weren't clean. *You can eat soup with noodles and slurp like crazy (I love that!). *I am glad we came with MIsoo and Jong. They made the trip so amazing, and helped us to see a lot of Korean culture. It wouldn't have been the same if we had come on our own. *My favorite part was staying with ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. khorsman... part sea-urchin part white fish by the time we got home. So far the Korean BBQ has been the best. The other night the other teachers and I were invited to a special retirement dinner for one of the other English Teachers. Give me a wild boar, raw onion, and a slice of garlic, wrapped in some lettuce anytime; magnifico! Classes are going well when I have them. It was a three day week this week and I didn't teach on ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. sjostrom"It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone..." - Homer Simpson Somewhere in Korea... After what seemed like ages, we were finally going to land. Breaking through the darkness were the city lights of Seoul below. We touched down and I happily stepped off of the plane into Incheon Airport. I filled out the mandatory paper work for entering the country as best I could, and was ecstatic to find that my luggage actually made it ...
